Time for an update:

Been busy with other things but found the time to alter a couple of things I didn't like. The Mr Gasket pump failed after first going high pressure so a regulator was fitted. This appeared to be only a temp fix as eventually it decided not to pump at all even though it was buzzing as per normal. A Facet low pressure pump was installed in it's place. The carburetor that came with the blower was the original Weber DFV supplied with the kit so must have been at least 25 years old. I had been on the lookout for sometime for a replacement and managed to find an almost new Weber DGV locally at a real deal price. The DGV is almost a mirror image of the older DFV so the throttle control and the fuel feed are on the opposite sides. There are a number of advantages in the new layout, the cables have an easier route and the fuel entry is on the right hand side away from the electrics.

Here is the new carburetor with the new shortened cable arrangement:

The righthand side of the shed had to be modified to allow the carburetor to fit:

The fuel flow now takes a less twisted route and the regulator which may not be needed now fits neatly under the righthand false tank cover:

Here's the new view from the top. The air filter that came with the carburetor is much bigger then the old one but the lid still closes ok:

Nice update. Time for a ride report as that looks like quite a sled to ride.

It's been ridden a few times but it needs some time putting in on a couple of things......I have an exhaust leak and need to weld in the boss for the wideband O2 sensor so I can connect the LM2 to it and make some tests. Unfortunately the place where we are staying at the moment is too quiet to start running and revving this noisy beast up. I'm not sure what they would make of the bright lights from the welder either! As soon as I am not restricted like this I will be right on it.

Project is looking good!
Although, that pump could be mounted too high for its type. Tried one on an old Weber equipped Alfa and it struggled to pump more than a couple inches over tank fuel level. Worked well when mounted down low.

Works fine there....it's designed to lift 12 inches from the supplied (NAPA) specsheet! It's just under 8 from the main tank filter to the inlet port and a bit more to the reserve. We will see what happens as the tank level drops. The fuel pump has been the biggest pain of the whole project. If it continues I am going to look into an in tank option. IMHO all the available automotive ones that suit the Weber pressure (low) are too much of a compromise.

I run that same faucet pump, no problems all the way down to the bottom of the tank...

Does anyone have a parts list and install instructions for one of these that they can scan and email? I have a guy locally who has a cc parts kit from the 80's, but does not have the parts list or install instructions. I want to make sure I know what I am getting into before I just purchase and hope. I also want to be able to verify that the parts are there...
