I have been thinking Batwing fairing just outer shell type, anyone know of a super duper cheap way of making this happen like cheaper than a Memphis Shades setup?

There are good used ones available at Harley swap meets. Might need some repair but you're going to have to mount it and paint it anyway.

We picked one up used off ebay for about 95 shipped. I just need to get it mounted.

I am about 50 into hardware to mount it so far.

I should be working on it soon. I have been into cleaning the frame and engine up. Putting those back together this weekend. Then I'll need to get the fairing mocked up before paint.
I will definately do a thread on how I do it. I am planning on a thread for the rebuild of My wife's sidecar rig also.

I did just what your talking about over the winter.I'll take some pictures over the weekend and show you how mine turned out,it wouldn't be super cheap because by the time you buy a fairing, windshield, headlight, paint, clamps, and barstock to fab up some brackets it all adds up,but it really changes the look of the bike.

How much difference do you see in wind/buffeting between a batwing and just a large windshield?

The front fender is custom.I got it at Oldys Custom Composites(http://www.oldinc.com) its called Fifties Classic at a custom width of 5 3/4 for the Goldwing front end.I like it because it sits deeper on the tire. The batwing doesn't offer the same wind protection as the Goldwind does.I already changed my windshield to a taller 10" with a flared end which for me at 6' 2" the wind just hits the top of my head. The batteries were dead in my camera so I'll take some pictures tomarrow and yes I'm always at attention for a long haired brunette. ;)

At Randakk's in 08 there were a couple of bikes with them. I thought the combination was great and they went very well together. Sorry but I do not have any info or better pics on how they were mounted
