Here is the finished product. As anyone who has been following my progress knows I got this just about spot on. The carb is just a little rich out of the box but it runs great.

Oooh! Pretty!

Have you had a chance to try it on your bike yet?
How did it do?

Ok Guys here is a little update on the Carb and manifold. I have found that the boots on the right side are a little too long and tend to try end collapse after heavy riding. I guess when they warm up and the RPM's are up they try to flatten out. Simple fix is I made two collars out of the same material as the runners and cut the boots in half and inserted in the middle. Fixed pretty simple. Few hours machining and a few beers and well you know how it goes. And now for the gas Mileage. I am getting over 130 miles on a tank in town. 95% of which is 35 MPH in town. I think that is pretty good. Need a road trip to see what the long distance highway is going to be.

A little when it's cold but not bad. I also ended up going another 20 miles till the tank was dry. So its 150 in town. Man I will have to get the seat redone I won't be able to sit between fillups!

If I forget and don't turn the fuel spigot back to the on position, I get about half a mile from the gas station before it quits.

I have some updates on the system. Runs great but I have found that the marine grade exhaust hose will not hold up as expected. It will last a while but will develop problems. I took the four original intake manifolds and ground off the section that butted up to each hose and then sounded it down smooth. This allows the hose to slip further down and get a better seal as well as allow some position adjustment and not risk the hose coming off on the road. I also shortened the aluminum runners on the fabricated manifold to allow for longer hose. This aids in fitting the manifold and carb sine things are pretty tight inside the frame. I switched over to inch and half ID fuel hose with metal rings in it so it will not flaten out. It is the same kind of hose that is used on refuil trucks at airports. The hose now has a slightly larger diameter than the runners and does not flatten out which does away with any restrictions. This seems to be a long lasting fix and clears up alot of headaches.

Hay Brent, how's the bike performing as to date? How is the color on the plug tips? Reason I asked was I'm finally getting around installing the Holley Weber and I see you have the primary facing to the front of the bike and was wondering if you had any problems with the carb that way,...( I'm also facing mine that way also but I see Randall W. has his backwards on His beast)??? Just wondering if any problems like cornerning or anything to worry about? :crosso hippie1 Thanks, Bob

Mine is mounted with the primary to the rear and the fuel inlet on the right.
Places the choke connection at the rear and the throttle bellcrank on the left side.

Hay Z, I've been procrastinating wither to put the Holley/Weber on because of what happened last time, darn near blew my ear drums out from backfirig and I'd swaer made T-belts jump a couple tooths. I've got mine set up Sec's. in back, I wouldn't think that would hurt,.......... I just have to quit talking about it and " Get Er Done" !!!!!!!! Do you still have that plenum I want   ,.. Ride safe Bro :crosso Later, hippie1

The setup is working great. The cable needed lubing recently though. The carb was loading up when running around three thousand rpm's for a while. A quick twist of the throttle and she idled right down. i lubed the cable and seems to be fine.

Brent,
Very interesting manifold, I am interested in how you fabricated it.
I would like to make a manifold for a throttle body only with fuel injection with an injector in each port.
I am working on a setup now using a modified LD manifold and putting injector bungs in Honda manifold adapters to put on my bike.

Glad that this is working for you, I am now running a LD manifold with a Pic 30 carb, works good.

I took a board and bolted the original runners on it. The tubing is aluminum. The bowl is from a fire extinguisher turned upside down. I used flat aluminum to seal the top and bottom. The top plate was placed on after I sanded the inside of the runners where they were welded to the extinguisher top. The runners where made by placing them onto the original runners and then hours upon hours of cutting and measuring to get them just right to weld onto the fire extinguisher top. No simple task for sure. the small hole on the fire extinguisher top has a flat plate welded to it just about even with the runners. I used the gasket for the carb to make the top piece for the carb to bolt too. The throttle linkage was made from scratch again with a lot of measuring and cutting. i taped it for the original pull cable to screw right into. I can not stree enough cut a little and remeasure. It's a whole lot easier to cut a little more off than have to put a little back. Put the runners on the extinguisher first before you do anything else and get them exactly how you want them.
