Here is a picture of the fuel injector package I will be using
The injector is a Bosch 0280155796/Ford F8CE-A5A that fits a Ford Escort among other vehicles.
The manifold elbow is one that I am working with to figure out how to do stuff.
The injector bung is a standard bung available most anywhere (ebay).
The thing on top of the injector is an adaptor to supply fuel to the injector, more information to follow.

I am working now on getting the bungs welded in the elbows dancr

Here is a picture of the manifold and throttle body etc. layed out. I was just getting a idea how things will go together.

The throttle body is from a 1998 Ford Escort................

Image

I am going to try to post information on each piece or equipment with pictures and where I purchased the equipment in the future.
I am still getting this together,, give me some time type1

I am better a wrenching than record keeping :guitar

UPDATE!!! car1
The computer is headed this way from DIYAutotune.com
Image

Note: This picture is off the web site @ DIYautotune, the injector does not come with the computer, I think they put that in the picture to show relative size or something. The computer board is the size of a credit card,, small.

I also got my fuel return line put in Wednesday, it is right behind the plug that comes out that has the fuel guage hanging on to it, I used a 1/4 Pipe Thread / 5/16 hose barb El fitting, cut a hole for it and screwed a fitting on the 1/4 pipe on the inside of the tank, I used a washer on the 1/4 pipe to hold a o-ring (on the outside of tank) to seal it, I also doped it good with copper RTV sealer. Sorry I did not take any pictures of it. Just never thought about it. confused22

I also figured out pretty much where everything is going to go: fuse block, computer, pump, pressure regulator, relay, all that stuff.
Oh, no pictures, it is all in my devious brain.... dancr

Later,
John C. kb0ou

Looking good!
Have you worked out any plans on how to mount a crank sensor, to possibly get the microsquirt to control ignition as well as fuel?

@kb0ou

Sorry for the late reply, was offline for some days.

OK, I have two efi setups: One more or less selfmade with BMW K100 throttles, stock Honda plenum and injector bungs welded into stock elbows. A friend who is a good TIG welder made the job without burning the rubber flanges.
Here: http://www.ngwclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=24220

As I was able to grab a GL1200 efi setup, I switched to this hardware for first results. When the megasquirt is tuned, I will also try the selfmade setup.

taunusrainer,
Thanks for the response,
I just the other day visited with a real good welder, he refused to try welding with the rubber carb adapters on the elbows. confused22

I have a mig welder, but I have not welded any aluminum in decades
So, I think I will be practicing my welding and working on those elbows myself.

I may try some epoxy, there are some really good compounds out there that may be as good or better than welding.

Good luck on the 1200 hardware, lots have made that work :crosso

See Ya,
John C. kb0ou dancr

JB weld is good stuff to epoxy the bungs into the elbows. Rock solid and heat resistant. I would try this instead of welding, You really have to be a perfect welder to do this job. The guy who did mine welded them with rubber flanges in cold water...

Mr T.
I have thought seriously of trying JB Weld, I have a packet in my shop.

UPDATE>>>>>
I got a blank made the other day to bolt in where my low pressure fuel pump is now, made it out of Plexiglass, it was easier to work than steel or aluminum.... dancr

Will be working on the flange for my throttle body this Wednesday I think, Unless I have to get the mower ready to mow the yard???

It is getting greener every day... crying1

I might work on boring the holes in the manifold els for the injector bungs too.... Lots To Do!!! :orange

See Ya,
John C. kb0ou

Happy St Patrick's Day!!!!!!!!! :drunk

I got some done today, I made a flange to go on the manifold which will bolt the throttle body to the manifold (kinda necessary) lolol

I did not take a picture of it, I am sure a picture will be taken later, right now it is just a flat 1/8 inch piece of metal with 4 small holes for bolts to bolt the throttle body and one big hole (1 1/2 inch) to let air through the flange. So, not much to take a picture of. crossy.gif

I also did some figuring on how to attach the throttle cables to the flange so I can actuate the throttle with the cables, kinda handy.

It is now 70 degees F. outside (12:14 oclock CDT/ 17:15 GMT) it is a little windy
I took a ride yesterday, to my brother's home, nice riding, just a little windy, the wing was running good.

See Ya and don''t drink too much!! anim-cheers1

The crossover pipe isn't a great place for the O2 sensor, particularly the unheated type you're using. Depending on a couple of other variables, it's likely the sensor may never reach proper operating temperature.

You should come up with a backup plan for relocating the sensor closer to the head.

Where are the stock ones located on the EFI 1200? I know the 1500 and 1800 have two, one in each collector.

Looks like it will be a nice clean build! Can't wait to see it done.

the 1200 elbows from an EFI 1200 already has a nice port to plug in injectors. your doing such a neat job so far, i think the 1200 EFI elbow would be a nice touch.
