March Update!
So, I've been having issues with my truck's electrical system as of late... and so, since C.A. has been having massive rain, I've been prioritizing that. However, I still have spent some time getting the paint started on the bike.
Specifically, the saddlebag lids. They're 70's-80's Buco bags (I think) and were primed in some haggard house-paint before I got them. The goob who did the painting fully coated the locking mechanism and all that, so I spend a good grip of time rubbing it all of with a rasp, then cleaning the residue with goof-off. Nasty stuff, that Xylene.
Anyhow; Since I was back to raw-white, and the bike'll be 'rust' (like, literal rust, done with "Modern Masters' Rust Activator" paint so I can 'rust' the plastic panelling), I figured to make it really 'ratty' a good, poorly drawn, somewhat-oversprayed, hand-touched-up checkerboard design would make the top of the bags stand out.
Did it with matte primer. White X2 and Black X2, then cleaned the lines with some golden Tamaya "enamel" paint pen from back when a 'writing' young malchick.
I'm REALLY gonna experiment with the rust paint before I put it onto my bike. I don't want to mess the fiberglass up, and make it look stupid. This build, I'm REALLY going for the "looks beat up close, but decent far away, and the engine works fine" to deter theft and 'street-modification' here in the East Bay Area.
...and that Warboy look. Because; Witness.
Anyway, here's the photos, and a rough-draft I've been working on of both a SECONDARY exhaust mod (because my KTM cans are scraping during hard cornering, and I'm not trying to 'corner-mod' my exhaust) and a full-draw-up of the mods to come.

Drafting the squares Drinking Coffee super late while lesson planning = neurotic square-cutting.)

Clear-Coated. You can see the 'ish in my design here. NOT 'grade-A' but I'll take it)
(
Exhaust Mod V2. Kinda' thinking that a good '4-fingers' on a 1 7/8" 90' bent pipe would make a good, unsupported, weld-on exhaust for the bike. I'd like to put baffles in it... this is just a thinking-out-loud.)
(
"End Game" drawing. Just playing with ideas. I did come up with the 'put some armor on the saddlebags made from gratings and old enduro tires' idea because of this drawing.)
