If you figure this thread started out in 1982 with a stuck engine bike being traded for a power mower, or do I have that right?
Pretty remarkable where it is today.

Thank you so very much all. I am sure proud of her!
You got it right all but the year there cookie... but then I guess who knows how long that engine was stuck. Maybe you are closer to when this story started than you think!
I venture a wager the people @ work will be relieved to not get daily updates on "what I did to the bike last night" ;)
tonight I got the mirrors and already have them installed. you guys were pretty close, nice view of my arms... not terribly bad but they are there in my field of vision. Now once I get her off the center stand we will see how the adjustment looks.

It just seems like 1982.....it also seems like this might be a candidate for a new award. How about most improved? We post a bike as found and then when done? Maybe with a short description of all the work that went into it with a link to the thread?

Nah... Thats easy... 5R's
1. Remove everything
2. Replace worn / defective parts
3. Repaint or polish the remaining pieces
4. Reverse procedure
and
5. Repeat

That could work. All I have to do is find time to work on it.

The 5R's is a great way to put it.

I'm really happy for you. :-)

I would prefer to keep mine to the 4R's. I don't like the repeat part. I did it too many times with my carbs.

Well here is the second attempt at a video. Watching it I see I am kinda long winded on video as well :)
Took almost a week in figuring out the upload from camera to computer to youtube then to the interwebz. In the mean time she seems to have smoothed out some now.
She looks better in the first half but you gotta see and hear me in there, about 3:12 is "TakeTwo" running better but the picture is a little dark in spots.

I hope you had a marvelous ride.

She sounds so good and responds really well.

Love the pipes, color and the overall look.

You're one lucky man.

It seems to be running very clean by which I mean no smoke. That makes me think the engine came out solid after all that work! anim-cheers1

BTW, I think you placed the false tank emblem just right. The bottom of the false tank is canted up, so if you align with those then you are no longer parallel with the ground. Really like the bike.

You know it's all due to this place... no way could I have done it without you! Not too much original thinking here, just copied what I liked thats already been done. Roady your write-ups with the gloved pointing fingers were a godsend!
She seems to be smoothing out a little more every time I run her for a while. or maybe I am just getting used to it.
Your right cookie, the exhaust is clear, only a little smoke noticed one time when started but cleared right away, rich from the choke I think. It doesn't smell like burning oil at all. I really expected it to for a while until the rings seated back in.
Fred, I put the decal on with the shelter mounted instead of on the bench, worried about exacty what you said...
Robin, next spring I will be ready for the first long distance ride, thought I might come down to Decatur and see how the go-fast guys do it.
Looks like it's not done though, I took the rear pegs off the shelf and disassembled to detail them today, want to fab up the bum-stop similar to Silver B's.... Wifey is wanting to know when she can go for a ride :)
