When were the carbs last cleaned? Have you got an in-line fuel filter?

These carbs generally require an ultrasonic cleaner to get properly clean, and even then it can be a few sessions before that happens. Have you got or do you know anyone with one of those?

Well, it's going to be air/fuel or spark, and if the carbs haven't been cleaned in memory they may well need it. It's worth exploring all avenues, though. For free, though, pull the plug caps, check their resistance, make sure they're not cracked. How old are the spark plugs? What do they look like? What sort of spark do you get if you ground a plug and test it?
Look in your tank - is there rust visible?
Also worth checking the vent in the gas cap, in case it's partially blocked and isn't allowing air in to replace the fuel that's drained out.
Is yours a non-vacuum or vacuum petcock?
I don't know a darn thing about US stores but I hear mentioned that Harbour Freight carry ultrasonic cleaners... I'm sure someone on your continent will chime in with where you can get one that isn't ridiculously expensive.

Spark plugs are about a month old.
Gonna try the ground tomorrow. How do you check resistance? I know it's gonna be ohms but what should it be? I'll look into the ultrasonic cleaner

If you have non-resistor plugs it should be about 7.5k ohms (set multimeter to 20k ohms), if you run resistor plugs it should have negligible resistance.
Which plugs are you using?
