Gl650i

for those of you that have M.B.S. (multiple bike syndrome) and have the "silver wing" models.
as our sponsors also have supplies for those bikes and they are popular with the "wing" crowd.

Gl650i

Post by rogerb »

Guys, I have noticed that used bikes in general seem to have dropped in value. I have a GL650i that I think is a 9 out of 10 condition with 18K on the clock that I'm thinking of selling. My question is what should I ask for her?

$2000 is what I'd hope to get for either of my CX650s. Just turned over 16K on one today. Keeping in mind these are 30yr old bikes, not exactly collector items yet. Collector bikes are the ones that everyone did have or wishes they had 30-40yrs ago. The trans-verse V-Twins got overlooked a lot back then. Europe is where they were appreciated the most.
But like it's been said....aim high and allow a good bit of room for someone to haggle you down with. Someone who is really interested will hang around and try to negotiate some.
The difficult can be done in a day. The impossible takes a little longer, if you don't know it can't be done.

I gave $800 for my gl650 a few years ago. It had about double the miles of yours.

Yes I saw the NADA. KBB says $2230 for excellent, which I think is too low. Of course every one thinks his bike is better, but I'm trying to be realistic. I don't think there are too many out there anymore. I think $2800 to $2900 would be a good starting point. I just want to get enough to allow me to buy a decent Gold wing.
