I don't know if anyone posted this part number but I just got a Napa auto parts Gold fuel filter for my ~3/16 or 4/16 fuel hose the filter p/n that's the right fit is 3001. Jdept
I think he meant Napa Gold Part Number 3011. 3001 is much too big, 3011 has a 1.4" diameter, just a little bigger than our stock 1.25" OEM filter but will fit if you use a little bigger screw in the filter bracket and bend the tab that the screw goes in very slightly.

Couldn't find a cross reference for an air filter??? Anyone know of one?

The price is right too: $11.01 with free shipping. I'm just not to comfortable with the EMGO brand. Might give them a try, if the fit is good there is not much to go wrong with an air filter.

Thanks, I've added it to the list.

(Part # seems appropriate, NGW=NakedGoldWing :-))

Radiator hose

I went into auto zone and gave the part number in the first post- AutoZone - #B70834 ($9.95) does both top & bottom and got the deer in the headlight look

They let me look and I found a hose that fit better than the last few i got.

B71382 cost about $10 and I got both the top and bottom out of one hose

Is there a part number for a 83 gl1100 temperature sending unit. Maybe Napa or Auto zone?

If you run an 1100 transmission and a 1000 final drive the gearing will be way too low.
I have the opposite - a 1000 engine/transmission and an 1100 final drive and the overall gearing is more than a gear higher - the mileage is a lot better and I don't find myself looking for 6th gear nearly as often.
I understand this is an old thread but I have a question that hopefully someone can answer. Regarding the above quoted post - am I right in assuming that the key information is that the 1100 final has 'faster' overall gearing (numerically lower reduction) than the 1000? And will the 1100 final bolt up to a 75 GL1000?

Also regarding parts interchange, does anyone know if the 75 GL1000 grab bar is the same as any other Honda model/year?

And one more query, see my recently purchased GL in my profile pic - the seat bolts up to the original mounts so I assume the seat pan is OEM. The pan is in great shape, no rust or obvious alterations. Does anyone know if the seat foam/cover is a Honda spec or does it look like a Saddlemen kit or similar? I'm sure it's more comfy than the old breadloaf but I'm just curious.

On your seat It is an aftermarket seat not OEM. It might be a saddleman. dont know. Some of those seats used original seat pans. I had one. I just modified the foam to fit a original type seat cover. Original seats are a little hard to come by. Look to spend $150 to $200. And you'r right, origanals are not as comfy.
