Replica GL1000 rear grab rails
I saw this and thought some of you may be interested in these replica grab rails.
They include the stems to mount the indicators. They are $95.

Re: Replica GL1000 rear grab rails
Regarding my previous post, I suppose I should have mentioned the fact
that I have no connection whatsoever with the vendor of the part.
It was something I found on my travels through the internet, and thought it may help someone.

Its a good source for hard to find parts. Old Fogey got one from someone on Ebay, and was very dissapointed in the construction. May not be the same guy. But if you are interested in getting one, you might check with him for his findings

I did buy one, not from ebay, it was from a link that someone else sent me.
It was ok, the plating job wasnt the best.
It was a bit of a job too to find the indicator stems, but I finally found some.

Re: Replica GL1000 rear grab rails
I've seen these posted on three different sites. Whether they are all made by the same guy, I don't know. But, I've noticed more than one flaw in their design. The most obvious one - looking at the bar from the rear (at the rounded portion that turns up), the OEM bar has a definite upward curve to it while the repro bar (pictured below it) has none.

Just a couple of pictures more of my man cave.
Apologies for the lighting in these, the whole place was being bombarded with light from the low evening sun.

This is another of my babies.
I got to fire her up over the weekend after months of resto work.

This is my 2000 GL1500SE
The colour is Pearl Merced green.
This is my regular steed for long distance rides.
I have done no long distance rides yet this year as I am recuperating from a work accident where I damaged my knee.
Curtailed my wrenching too as I also got a wrist injury from the same accident.

A very nice collection. And a great work shop. I wish mine was as large. Both the collection and the shop

Re: Replica GL1000 rear grab rails
I bought this baby from a friend of mine.
He travelled around the States and Canada then shipped her over to Europe and toured all over the UK
then they came over to Ireland toured all around here. Left here last September went and toured France, then went to Italy.
They wintered down in Almeria in Spain, and we went down there and spent Christmas with them.
In the springtime they left Almeria and toured Spain, came back up the western side of France, through the UK and back to here.
They flew back to Canada early in May.
Made some lifelong friends all thanks to this bike. I have a bit of a quandry now as she has no title so she is unfortunately just a parts bike.

This is a naked 1100 I bought in bits.
I plan on putting her back together. I am short of some bits.

This is my 1100 DX which I bought some years ago from the man that bought her new.
I 'borrowed' the battery to start the 1200 Standard last weekend.
