Ok, I might just have to show up for this. Of course it means traveling the north shore and the Trans Canada, but I guess during the color season I just might have to endure the ride! Maybe catch the UP and the south shore of Superior onthe way back. Now to find someone else to ride with me.

Goldwings don't accelerate, they gain inertia.

1978 GL1000 - almost stock - needs a head replaced, parts are ready to install!
1979 GL1000 - Winter project/parts bike - custom "Busted"
1983 GL1100 Standard- raised from the dead and back to organ donor status
And the newest acquisition, 1979 XS 650F to be a sidecar tug. crossy.gif

Rat and I had another meeting on Friday and are finalizing plans for accommodations. We are going to make a scouting trip in the near future to narrow down the choices for meals and daily rides. Things are really taking shape ..

Also, I am working on the artwork for the ride shirts. There will be 3 options for the style of shirt:
1- short sleeves
2- long sleeves
3- hooded sweat shirt
colors and pricing to follow later this week ...

Thinking about this, probably incorporate a trip through Monroe,MI to see my mom and sister and cross at Detroit. Its been decades since I crossed the border at Detroit, which is better tunnel or bridge?

I prefer Port Heron , which has always been smoother. But just south of Port Heron is a small ferry crossing that is almost always better. Gord knows the exact name of the place, But it is by far my favorite.

You must mean Port Huron, couldn't find a Port Heron. That takes me way north from Monroe and I would have to drive through the entirety of the Detroit Metro area south to north. If I cross at Detroit then I only have to contend with Detroit and the downriver traffic areas.

If you're riding there's no choice, motorcycles are not allowed in the tunnel.

Buffalo is an option since you would be travelling east, the trip along the south shore of Lake Erie is nice enough if you can stay off I90.

If you go through Detroit and then east Hwy 2 is much more pleasant than the 401.

Either way takes you by or through Toronto, best to go north of town unless you need a beer anim-cheers1

looks like it has to be the ambassador bridge to cross.
