2014 NGW Western Official Announcement

#1

Post by sunnbobb »

Greetings! This thread will be dedicated to the 2014 NGW Western Run. Hoping you all can make it!

Preliminary Info:

DATE: June 26-June 28 1, 2014
LOCATION: Kettle Falls on the Columbia River Roosevelt Reservoir. (Kettle Falls Locust Grove Group Campsite -BLM)
https://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source ... 09&t=m&z=7

REGISTRATION FEE: $10 (includes two nights of camping, and Plenty of food)

ACTIVITIES: To be announced.

Arrive campsite Thursday June 26, Depart Saturday June28.

AMENITIES: Electric power, camping for 25, Large cooking and picnic shelter, waterfront, Town of Kettles Falls about 15 minutes away.

THEME: This year will be a little less structured than previous years. I hope to give folks the opportunity to sit back and talk and do the bonding thing. There should be a boat for water skiing and such, as well as swimming. The area offers many great rides, and I will post those up before the event.

I stole this info from a group I ride with. They stayed here last year.

I will be looking for volunteers to step up and take on cooking assignments. And I will be taking keys from anyone who doesnt help clean up! LOL. Each volunteer will take on a specific meal, and can design it to be whatever they want. More to come on that.

Looking forward to it as always!!!

Richard, Count me in, that is if I can pay with a mo. I also just spoke to the owner of the 1100 I'm working on, he'll also be attending. I'll contact Roger and make payment arrangements.

Richard I think your dates are a bit odd. In 2014, July 1 is a Tuesday not Saturday as you have posted.

I think I am going to be able to make this one. The last one I was at was to Crater Lake and I count that as a highlight of my riding life.

This is sounding very doable. I'd like to hear when/where the central rally is but I need to put in for vacation pretty soon. I also talked to a co-worker that has a 76 BMW and he's interested in coming.

I need to fire off a pm to Brant and Skydog to see if we want to cruise out and maybe go through Glacier. Very cool.

Not to steal any west coast thunder, but looking at the week of July 13th through the 19th for the central. Will be in Wisconsin, in the Wyalusing State Park area. Just so you can maybe plan Bub. Pierce is hammering out details and I think will be ready to announce soon. As for the west run for me this year, probably not. So far the "every three years" plan for heading out west is working for me. Need to spend some vacation time with the wife and grandsons. I think Glacier might still be on the table as a central run for next year. Now back to your regularly scheduled program...

Richard, the link to the google map for the Locust Grove campground puts it 30 miles south of Kettle Falls. I did a search on Locust Grove group campsite Kettle Falls WA and it puts it just outside of Kettle Falls. Check attached image. The location with the little tent at the bottom of the picture is your link. The location with the little tent near Kettle Falls is my search results location.

Ya hey Sage, when I click my link the map comes up and a green arrow shows the exact location. Perhaps you were looking at the letter A in the bubble?
