All Runs World Wide Forum
Welcome to the "All Runs World Wide Forum!!
This is where discussions about runs and events and announcements regarding (NGW SPONSORED) runs will be released.
Each year NGW will Sponsor up to 3 Runs with Financial support. Generally those runs require pre-registration and payment of a small fee. About the first of September the Moderators and Run Executives will start the discussion and decision process to determine what events NGW will Sponsor for the following year. The idea's for the following Year's Sponsored Runs often come directly from the members posts here so do not be shy. This Moderator discussion and decision process takes place behind the scenes and is a fairly involved process. Previous successful Runs will often be used as models for upcoming runs. Our Goal each year will be to release dates and locations and a rough schedule of the 3 (NGW SPONSORED) Runs by 1 October.
This will afford plenty of time to make plans and get ready for the events. Each of the NGW Sponsored runs will be clearly marked as (NGW SPONSORED).
This Forum is also where individual members may post about Non-Sponsored events and local events that they find on the net or elsewhere. As well as “impromptu” runs/gathering that develop thought the year. Shine and Shows or Wednesday night events at your local Tune and Lube or Steak House are all welcome!!
(Discussions) regarding possible future runs are open to all to participate and throw out idea's and will weigh heavily in the decision process for future (NGW SPONSORED) Events.
There are thousands of great destinations for runs and they are not limited just to the US.
If you have an idea for a run or are interested in coordinating a run let me know. We are always looking for Volunteers. Putting a good run together requires research and planning and then execution of that plan. It is not an insurmountable task but is not for the timid either. It requires someone with a relatively stable lifestyle that is going to stick with the task in the 8-12 months between planning and execution, so it is not a short term commitment.

You forgot to mention Picture Taking/Posting, Run Report, and Financial Report after it is done. As they always say, "The Job is not finished until the paperwork is done."

There aren't any NGW sponsored runs in CO this year, but there is Emily's parade at the end of Sept. If you're going to be in the Denver area on the 30th, you are welcome to ride along with us. here's a link to the thread. http://www.ngwclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=43376

We have a few members in Au. but not many. Alan Hawke is one of our Mods but I think he is about 1000 miles away over in Millicent in South Au.

Re: All Runs World Wide Forum
I've noticed that there aren't rides in the east coast, particularly Mid-Atlantic and New England. Any planned?

Re: All Runs World Wide Forum
To the best of my knowledge there has only been one proposal and the venue was not big enough.

Re: All Runs World Wide Forum
What is involved (other than arranging motel and riding routes) in hosting an event? And is it restricted to just NGW members?

Ride routes (pre-scouted)
Places to eat for 3 times a day
Those are the basics. We have done some with a lunch on the road at a local park or similar (Sandwiches, chips, and soda's etc) or at restaurants. Restaurants need scouted and need to be able to handle a crowd and be affordable. Our last East Rally was I think in the low 30's for people. If attendance is similar to that it is best to split the ride group into two and have two leaders familiar with the roads/ routes. The venue selection is very important. Needs to be big enough to take us all so we are not split up. Before and after the rides is when we stand around and visit and look at bikes and such. For many of us that time is more enjoyable than the actual rides. Shelter for inclement weather ( a Pavilion or similar) is a big plus as is a fire pit to sit around in the evenings.
We have been joined by several non NGW members over the years and they were always welcomed.
