I think that is a wise decision John. To many points of failure in a plan that tight.

Sorry I have nothing to add to help, but I do have a comment.
I will have my endorsement by then by only a month and doubt I can safely ride all the way down to my HOME state.
So, I will be there in spirit and wish Y'all a very safe and enjoyable Run for all.
God Speed.

Doug and I have had a looooooooooong discussion on this and for many reasons we have decided that it is not feasible to do this run.
So there it is. We are both real sorry not be seeing old friends and making new ones on this run but it can't be helped. :(
Well it was always a fingers crossed type thing. Texas is by no means just a stones throw away.
Sorry we will miss ya'll this time.

Well things are looking good for me at this time, We are all up north at the Lake House and will be here till the last week in Aug. I finished the 1982 Friday morning and loaded it up and brought in up so I could do a shake down. But so sure this bike is gong to work out fine, but time will tell. Got it OKed by the wife, postpone my knee surgery till late Oct. or Nov. as with this hot weather I am doing much better than the cold. I need to get registered and talk to my old buddy Claude and fine tune my plans.

I'm hoping I'll be able to go, and I'd be camping, too.

Hi, Bud.
Are you bringing the trailer? I'm packing light, but hoping that the weather will allow us a relaxing ride back to MN. Let's plan to meet up and ride down together. Brant, want to join us? I'm thinking a hotel on the way down though. I like to ride rested on long hauls.
