Canadian run/mini rally 2015

#1

Post by ascot »

I am proposing to host the Canadian run again in 2015. This run will be a little different as we are being invited to participate in the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group national rally. This rally takes place in Paris, Ontario every Fathers Day weekend. The dates for the 2015 event will be June 19-20-21. Each year they have a "feature" motorcycle and in 2015 they will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Gold Wing GL1000. Since we have the greatest club with the greatest members and the greatest motorcycles, I thought that this would be the perfect tie in for a ride/gathering.
I have been in contact with one of the executive for the CVMG Paris rally committee, and he was very excited that we would be interested in putting on a display at the rally.
Here are a few details for the event. The cost for non-members of the CVMG would be $45.00CAD for the weekend. This would allow you access to the grounds, including camping and a free breakfast on Sunday morning. I will have at least one 10X10 pop up so we can display our bikes. For those that would like to enter their motorcycle into the show and shine, this takes place on Saturday. There is also a large swap meet on the grounds and many sections of the CVMG have their own displays as well. If you do not wish to display your motorcycle or want to come just for the day the entry cost is $8.00CAD.
This run/rally would be similar to the way the club was set up at Vintage Days at MidOhio. This can be a drop in type of event and we can also plan rides of a up to a couple of hours in length for those that would like to tour the country side. I'm sure that some of our members from southern Ontario would pitch in and make this a memorable event. Details will be firmed up as we get closer to the date, but I just wanted to throw this out there to gauge interest.
The website for the CVMG Paris rally is: http://www.cvmg.ca/parisrally
The dates listed are for the 2014 event, but this will be updated shortly. Hope to see you in Paris (Ontario) in 2015!

Sounds like a great time. Also perhaps a chance for some of us to sell off excess inventory .....

At the risk of jinxing myself again, count me in. Still stinging after missing the Manitoulin Island event.

The "mini rally" just means that it isn't a full blown riding event. Mostly just sitting around talking and showing off our bikes. There are some rides/tours being discussed but nothing confirmed yet. Also, just like real life, there are rules for everything (LOL!)
