Wheels look great. Used that same color for the valve covers on my 75. Held up well.

Thanks guys. I've been out of town for work pretty much all of the past month. I'm anxious to get back in the shop and get this thing finished up. I'm so close!

Well, after a three-week hiatus, I'm finally getting back into working on the thing. So close now.

I repainted the brake rotors, chucked them up on the lathe, and spun them against some 80-grit for a few minutes. They turned out nice I think.

I also located a good running set of carbs, so I'll need to swap those on this week. I'd really like to get to the point where I could fire this thing this weekend.

I also decided to get rid of the cheap RFY shocks and order a set of Hagon 2810s, so that should be a nice improvement when they finally show up.

Thanks all.

I got the Dyna coils wired up and installed last night, and I also swapped the carbs over. I need to touch up a little paint on the fuel tank, and once my resistor caps and new plugs get here Friday, I should be ready to crank it!

Don't see one but I hope you had a fire extinguisher near by when you did that.

We missed you, man! I was beginning to think you forgot about us. lol It's always a tense and exciting moment when you start it up and hear it run for that first time. Wait till you take it down the driveway or to the end of the street and back for the first time! Make sure the brakes work before doing it though. lol I've got several other things I need to do before i can start on my '82 and '83 GL1100's, but plan on taking a lot of pictures when I do and posting them on here if, and when it ever happens. And at age 68, I better hurry up. Ha-ha. Posts like yours inspire me.

Thanks bud, I appreciate the kind words and encouragement.

Got the fuel tank plumbed and tried out the new carbs today. Works like a champ.

Current situation:

I'm so glad to have this thing looking like a motorcycle again. It also sounds quite a bit better with some headers on it.
