Building long fendered bike

Carved a bat from 1/8" flat with angle grinder and air dremel. That old goldwing emblem looked so cal-hawk cheesy,it had to go.

I love the bat emblem, I've copped out and touched up the original Gold Wing script on mine, but I don't like it...

It's not up there with the rest off the style I'm putting together, so maybe it's over to the angle grinder and dremel huh?

Ok,I'm a little slow...flip-flops...yeah,not good when welding,etc. Having foot issues lately.

Tightly wrapped form with aluminum tape,waxed surface,started laying up fiberglass.

Four layers of 'glass. Put two coats of slightly over catalyzed resin on top for surfacing. Don't sand down into the fibers if you can avoid it. That extra resin on top allows sanding without digging too deep. Most of it will be sanded off.

Looks Cobby,but actually smooth as my old pick-up lines.(kidding).first used glass-reinforced filler,then normal bondo. None of the low spots were deep,just 'ironing out surface' with thin layer. You'd think I knew what I was doin,hmmm?

Actually,my first try. I worked at a boat co. Laying fiberglass at 17,but that was when dinosaurs roamed the earth(1975)I've watched hours of YouTube videos,many should be banned for bad info. This seemed to work fine,although getting the fender off the buck was interesting. The filling sanding took way longer than I anticipated,but I intend to make duplicates,so it has to be sweet.
