Here in Arkansas you dont have to have marker lights or blinkers.
So I took them off of my 84. My road king has the rear lights but not the front.
I use hand signals.
Kinda dicey though, seems like fewer and fewer folks understand hand signals.
I guess the danger adds to the fun.
Check the regs then do what you're comfortable with.
Might be a real adventure in the big city.

Btw, the mini bike rocks.
Tell your son he did a great job designing his bike.
And tell the teachers to.....
Im sure you know what to tell the teachers.

I will be using turn signals. Just dont know if I like the idea of 3 "headlights" on the front. Kinda leaning towards the less is more idea.

Thanks for the compliment on his bike. He loves it. It was his last day of elementary school so he asked me to bring it up. Then he came out of class and his teacher's jaw dropped and she said,"oh, I guess you do have a motorcycle, you don't really ride it do you?"
His response, "I do, wanna see?"
Then he hopped on it and rode down the sidewalk and right on down the street to where my friend lives. He must have had 20-30 people cheering him on. We waited about a half hour for traffic to die down and both rode home. He didn't stop smiling for at least a week.

So, today I was making up the bracket for the right side of the "tank". I decided to start it up and check the clutch for some reason. Had it on the mid stand. Started right up, clutch in put in gear and the wheel started turning. I hit the brake and the engine died. So, the clutch is not disengaging. I noticed some fluid coming from the rod on the lever. Can I rebuid the master? Or is it a better option to look for another master?

Yes you can get rebuild kits for the master. I think you can rebuild the slave cylinder too.

Does anyone know if the master is my problem? When i bled the clutch i got pressure out of the bleeder for about half the pull of the lever. It feels good but it obviously isn't releasing the clutch, any ideas?

Most have to turn the bars to the left, tie the lever in the pulled position and leave it overnight. You want gravity to slowly bleed everything. As long as everything is slightly uphill from slave to master, the air should come up. You could even loosen the lever from the bars and prop or tie it so it's all uphill. That's what I have had to do and it works.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

He's working on the clutch master. So he would turn the bars to the right for that one. ;)

So now that the holidays are over I started back on the project. Figured out my clutch problem with a ton of help from you guys. Turns out that the clutch was stuck. Just ordered speedo and tach, new grips and mirror mounts. Think I finally decided how I want the "tank" to look and plan to start glassing that next week. Also, my son has decided that it is time to finish his fender on his bike so that will probably be done before mine, but then I can make him work on my bike. To all those that helped my with the clutch problem, thanks again

I've bled several of these clutches, no need to do anything special. Just bleed them until the fluid runs clear and close the valve up. If the clutc his not kicking out it could be either the master or slave. The slave is a piece of cake to rebuild, and rebuild kits run about 15 bucks on ebay. I use KL kits with no problems. Part number cck-102 clu slave rep kit H 32-0146
I found the end of the internet

So, I was checking Craigslist for a tank for my son's bike and someone has a tank cover for an 81 GL1100. My question is, will it fit on my 84 1200? It would save me the time of having to modify mine. I still will probably modify it, but the 1100 one is only 25.00
Also, looking for the lockring for the fuel tank, which he has also. So will anything fit or not fit from one to the other? Thanks again guys. Even if the cover will fit, I will still modify mine, might be cool to have 2 different looks to go with.
