My First Goldwing Build

#1

Post by 1320bd »

So, now that I have figured out how to post pictures I can start showing my build. It will be kinda slow, so I will probably only update every week or two. Also, I am cheap so I am hoping to be all in for under a grand (including $500 for the bike). Any suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Also, if someone sees me doing something stupid, please stop me. Thanks in advance.

So I bent up this bracket to mount the front of the "tank". Also gave me a place to mount the horns. Now, just need to trim it down and figure out how to get the side covered up.

Made a template out of cardboard, let me know what you guys think. I will make it out of fiberglass and a panel for the front to connect and smooth everything in.

This is my son's bike. Presently it is getting the rear fender widened 2 inches and stretched 2 inches to fit a taller, wider tire. All the parts and design of it were his idea, I just do the fab work. He has taken every bolt out and put it back together twice (with some help). He even rode it off into the sunset on the last day of 5th grade. (Teachers weren't too happy.) All the lights, turn signals, horn work. He has even put in a couple car shows.

Thanks. Had to get my heater working again before I went back out there. I have now cleaned up the wiring in the front and left just the marker light sockets, turn signal and headlight connectors. Also started to make a template for a headlight mount. Not sure on if I want marker lights. Any suggestions?
