J. Wrights Gl 1100 bobber build

Ok so I picked me up a 83 gl1100 sight unseen for $500. I had seen pics and video of it running. upon getting it I found it has a blown headgasket and a few oil leaks. So this is what Im starting with....

after it set in the garage for a few hours I decided it was time to get started. I didnt take any pics during the process. Tail cut off and gas tank removed

believe me it takes a LOT LONGER putting it back together :roll:

still have alot of clean up to do to get rid of the old parts of the frame. But this is where Im at right now. Not bad considering I have about 8hrs in to it

That will happen when I start taking off stuff Im going to reuse or when I tear down the motor

A few quick questions....

does someone have a link to the repair manual in pdf for the 1100?
what is the wiring that goes into the neck for?
are there any bikes that have compatable tripples that dont have bar mounts on them? I want to run clipons

77 WING, 1200 engine with 77 heads, cams, gl1100 foot pegs, Magna V65 front end, 764A carbs, [-gone Suzuki M109 monoshock--, replaced with gl1100 shocks] gl 1200 swing arm, gl1500 final drive, wheel and rear brakes Valkyrie seat, Meanstreak tank, Sportster pipes, Power Arc ignition off crank.

actually this is my first bobber build and my first GL. but I have been a welder/ metal fabricator for over 10 years and I have done other custom stuff. mostly helping friends but its my turn
