So here's my bike ! Goldwing 1100cc 1982 with 69 000 km. I bought it in 2010 for about 1500$ CAD. The engine is one the table, all mechanics are in perfect condition, exept for the neutral prosition that is hard to get on when the bike is hot. I'll change all the gasket and the timing belt, but I do not expect to pass a lot of time on the mechanical system. We are actually making a new seat from a Darking Cafe Seat with fiberglass, should be done soon. We need your help for the custom paint design ! The wheels will definitively be gold, and i thought about a white-red-blue design such as the Honda HRC (google it) or white-red-green like CASTROL. I'll put a JPEG of the bike that you are free to use and make me some paint design ! I will work on the bike all summer as I'm studying Industrial Electronics at CÉGEP. Painting is expected for september ! Here's some pictures and the jpeg :

We are looking for :
Original front footpegs (or compatible)
Headlight brackets
Front fender (early CB900 looking)
Turn signals ideas and brackets
Mufflers for stock headers
Brake system upgrade ideas (easy to install)
& any mechanical upgrade that make a real difference (like the electric fuel pomp of Randakk).

Sorry for any mistakes, my first language is french ! More pictures to come..

Did someone tryed to install HID kit on their bike ? Will it be hard on my alternator and battery ? Thanks a lot !

HID kits have been installed. Sgwilly did one on an 1100. 1200 pegs will not fit. All years 1100 pegs will fit your 83.

Yes I like the HRC idea too ! I'm still looking for the right colours code.
There is some picture of the seat. We used an VERY old battery charger and a string to cut the polystyrene and make a more confortable seat. Cuted off the bracket that was holding the false-tank. I will make a custom one because I wanted to hide the nuts on the frame. The rear wheel was sandblasted yesterday, but i wonder if i can paint them like this.. do i need to sand it ? More to come !

I'll try something with AutoCAD and post it later.
It is hard to make something special with the GL, because there's no fairing on it..

If sandblasted, they should be fine for painting. Use a sandable primer first.. If you rattle can them, be sure to heat the can of paint up in a pan of hot water first. The heat raises the pressure of the spray, and the paint comes out in a very fine mist, and sets up much more quickly to avoid runs and orange peel.

thats exactly right sunbob, but in all pressure cans you'll find when you have a bit left but no pressure to pump out the fluid, you can do the same, or sit the can in the sun for a few minutes...that gives pressure too....but the water way is best...i used to be a spray painter...no.1 apprentice in N.S.W

Okay so I heard that changing the synthetic oil for normal one can help for the ''hard to put on'' neutral position.. Can someone tell me if it works ? Found the original footpegs for 75$. The custom seat fairing is a bigger job than I expected. Other part are ready to be paint..
