The tall silver thing? Yep coolant over flow.
I bought that from Speedway Motors: -> Here
Cost 28 bucks.
Now I get hotrod catalogs... oy!

I will say it is your fault, sunnbobb, I have the thing because of your "Meddle" with the red coolant overflow started me looking.

It has tabs on it, and then comes with two "L" tabs. I attached the "L" tabs to the bottle, then ran hose clamps through the slots and clamped it down.

The "in" and "out" tubes are on the bottom so the overflow hose has to run to the bottom of the bottle, in my gallery (sounds fun to say that now!) The pics on the "right side", "right rear" and "controls with new "dash"" you can pull up the full size pic and get an idea of the top mount, bottom is the same. it looks like two hoses, actually only one as the other is my wiring for the Water temperature.

I can get closer pictures if you would like.

Been thinking a nice aluminum water bottle, and some compression fittings with a dab of solder could do the same thing - albeit a little small.
It is interesting what some people have used for coolant over flow bottles.

How is viewing in bright sunlight? I generally find it difficult to view LCD's in bright daylight, especially with sunglasses or tinted visors.

I wear polarized lenses - I get a spot near the top of the meter about the size of a dime. but I have no trouble seeing the speed or any other feature on the gauge at a glance. I have no problem viewing it in the sun. and at night it is a pleasant blue color. The indicator lights are simple LEDs and they fade a little during the day but still can be seen.

One thing when turned on it starts out at the first "screen" - The mode button switches between 5 displays across the bottom. Trip 1, Trip 2, Odo, Clock, RPM. It always defaults to Trip 1 though.

You do need to get the aim right, up and down wise I noticed once it is right it is crystal clear, I have to get way to the sides to loose view. When off the bike it s not all that easy to see.

The tach is jumpy so next time I have the shelter off I am going to run the ground back to the battery. On svrider.com a gentleman mentions grounding straight to the battery to make the tach read smoother.

A Google search on - install acewell - will kick up a bunch of people's take on installing these. A lot use the wider panel meters rather than the small gauge.

This guy - http://illowacyclecenter.com/?page_id=35 - appears to be installing his on a Goldwing, and using the magnet sensor, which cuts out needing to calculate for rotation like I did. Some people mention just gluing on a rare earth magnet (Like you need glue for these little monsters!)to a bolt head rather than needing to drill or replace bolts for the magnetic sensor.

There are a number of installs to look through to get some pretty good advice on this.

FWIW - I have an Acewell 3700 series on my dualsport.
http://www.electrosport.com/dirt-bike/s ... s-3700.php
NO problems at all viewing it in sunlight !

More I think about it I will probably go with
http://www.electrosport.com/street/spee ... s-3950.php
because I like the panel version better than the round one. The 3950 includes
fuel, volt meter, and water temp. This would let me fill the stock gauge pod with
oil pressure and a 2 12v power ports for GPS etc. :orange
