The "bare" frame should give the finished bike an unusual look. Keep up the good work.

Don't get paid by the hour at work either... Maybe I should be taking that personally?

Hobbies can't be judged by the hour but back when I got paid by the hour at work i loved the overtime. How are you going to keep it from rusting, I must have missed that.

I'm doing everything on this bike as cheap as I can. If I can make it look original with a little elbow grease instead of replacing it that's how it's gonna be! There's a few things that can't be scrimpt on... belts, carb kit, head gaskets (have to switch heads off another motor), tires, and seal kits for the final drive and brakes most likely. I was hoping to give away the extra pieces I took off but I may have the sell them to help cover my costs.
There's a pic of my seat back on page 2. The seat is off a honda magna, and when you slide it back it matches the lines of the frame almost perfectly. I spent most of tonight cutting out the seat pan and gently (can you say B.F.H.) flattening out the huge seam on the top of the tank so they fit together low and seamless. After I get the tank stripped, cleaned inside, and cleared I'll post the pic. I technically won't qualify as proper bobber because the seat is really comfortable ;) , and I'm going to make some mods to a set of Kuriakyn (how the hell do you spell that?) highway pegs so I can do a few longer cruises. I'm bustin @## trying to make Ohio!

Take another look at the case protectors that came with the "Old BattleAxe" ;) seems to me they had highway pegs on them...

They did, but I'm not going to put on the crash bars. The pegs are a good story, but I'll save it till I post the mod and mounting of them.

Bye the way Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement!!!! A good hard slap on the back sure helps get you out of bed when you worked to late futzin with a widget that no one but you will even notice you did anything too! But we do it just for us anyways right!

Got a few more pieces done this week, action1 action1 and came up with an idea to stamp the bike with its name. ;)
Here's the swing arm done and cleared! I found the swing arm bearings in good shape too. Miracles never cease!

Here's the tank finished, but not cleared yet.

I decided to try and polish a graphic into the side of the tank. I found the perfect graphic and sized it just right for the tank surface. I then covered the side of the tank with good painters tape, transferred the image, and cut it out with an exacto knife.

I'll do most of the polishing with a dremel I think. If it works like I plan, the cut lines from the exacto, and the polished surface will make for a very visible picture, but one you might not catch right off the bat. I'm going for something that messes with you a little before you finally figure it out ;) I'll post the pic as soon as I get it done!

I really like the thought of the polished in graphics. This is going to be one cool looking bike when it is finished. I'm looking forward to the assembly pictures.

it looks like its going to be real wild. Im wondering if laying silverleaf over your pattern and xactong it out might work. A option anyway if the polishing doesnt do it. JB
