800 miles now with no major issues. The throttle cable I shortened pulled apart this week and I had to limp it home. Luckily I was only a few blocks away when it happened. I put a new end on so we'll see how long that lasts. I'm changing the oil and fuel filter today but other than that she's been running great!

Not too much new in the last couple weeks. One of my closest friends and riding buddies got in a wreck last week. He was merging into the freeway and the car in front of him came to a sudden stop while he was shoulder checking. He almost avoided it but ended up clipping the rear quarter panel and went down. Shattered his left forearm and now has a titanium plate and 13 screws holding it together. We're already started repairing his ride though.

I put on some new Biltwell grips and changed my fuel filter and fuel lines. Went with braided Stainless automotive line which matches my braided stainless brake lines.

I ordered a new tach and speedo cable and I'm planning on figuring out some custom routing to eliminate the bend at the connection to the gauges and hopefully fix my issue with tach and speedo cables breaking (one speedo and two tach cables so far. Might go right through the headlight shell and use rubber grommets top and bottom to seal it all up. Still undecided.

I've got just over 1000 miles now and she's running very strong. I've started to look into getting the final body work and paint done now that I'm sure things are working well.

Thanks guys! The front fender is a fiberglass Ducati replica from Airtech.

I did a lot of trimming and shaping to get it how I liked but it was a good base to start and easy to work with.

Thank you Harald, I've been following your build and story and I'm sure your wing is going to turn out fantastic as well. The ride you have planned sounds amazing, if I lived in the UK I'd come out and support you! I live in the Okanagan Valley in BC Canada and the pic with the water was taken at the north end of Lake Okanagan.

Nice work :2thumbs
Regarding your cable issue - do you think you could bend the bracket down so that the two gauges are more horizontal, allowing the cables to exit in a more vertical downward path ? If that's at all possible it may do the trick.

Your pics are great action1

I did have to bend the bracket to begin with but because of the type of LED's I used and the location of the ignition and triple clamps I can't flatten it out any more.

I just realized I never posted any pics of the gauge build. I started with a billet bracket for a CB750 which I thought would be a direct fit. It was not, and took a lot of cutting and bending. I bought 6mm LED warning lights because I wanted them flush mounted, which meant I needed to build another aluminum plate to hold the lights which got bolted to the bottom of the main bracket.
Image
Once the LED's were mounted and sealed they stuck out the bottom of the bracket about an inch

When I went to fit it the back of the LED's interfered with the 'block' on the ignition switch. I dropped the ignition switch about an inch but then it hit the back of the head light shell and I had to do some modification there to get the light aimed correctly (everything effects everything!). Long story short by the time I got everything mounted and working that's when the issue with the cables breaking at the sharp bend cropped up.

So now my idea is something like this:
