Greetings from Victoria BC Canada.

Got my first wing last fall. Drove it through the Rockies back to Vancouver island. What a pleasure.
I have been trolling online forums ever since. Mostly been on goldwingdocs, but this is a pretty great forum too, so about time I joined. Plus I love to get naked!

The PO did a pretty good job of cleaning it up for me, but have been having a few issues with the bike.
Blown head gasket, 7v regulator blown, cooling hoses hooked up wrong, rear brake sticking, blowing smoke, etc...got most stuff fixed up to a comfortable ride, but needs a few tunings still.
Been enjoying the wrenching and learning.
Thanks to everyone freely sharing such great info.

Welcome to the (best) site for help and advice. Nice looking bike with a few things to do, not sure how you can hook up the cooling hoses incorrectly  but sure it's nothing to worry about. Good to have someone to sit on the back on rides out.

Welcome from Wisconsin! Very nice! And the bike looks good too! lolol lolol lolol
1100's are my favorites, and blue makes 'em better! I'm curious about that fairing. Looks like the original, cut down and mounted to the triple tree? I've had thoughts of doing something similar and would love some closeup pics and feedback on how you like it.
Enjoy the ride!

The over flow tube and the tube from the rad were switched by the PO.
Making it spew coolant through the over flow tube as it starts to warm up....that was a head scratcher. Thought it was a blown head gasket, until I was like 'this an't right'

Sure I will post a pic of the front fairing in a short bit. Yeah it is the original fairing has has been chopped.

Here's the front fairing. I like it. I could clean up the edges from the hack job. The inherented tin foil wire hold, could use a box around it.... The front light is bouncing around, I need to put a rubber stopper on the back of the headlight to brace it.

Took a beautiful ride today!
I swear I will do my belts soon!

Welcome from balmy SW Minnesota (60 degrees today, but too much mud between the bike barn and the road to get out.)
The site leads to online community flowing over into the real world. Check out the rides worldwide, and other members out your way. Nothing like face to face!
Goldwings don't accelerate, they gain inertia.

1978 GL1000 - almost stock - needs a head replaced, parts are ready to install!
1979 GL1000 - Winter project/parts bike - custom "Busted"
1983 GL1100 Standard- raised from the dead and back to organ donor status
And the newest acquisition, 1979 XS 650F to be a sidecar tug. crossy.gif
