Longer stroke= More torque
Shorter stroke= Mo Revs= peek HP

One can build a long stroke (over square) OHC/DOHC but reciprocating mass will limit HP curve.
One can build a short stroke (under square) pushrod engine but you then have valve train limits.
...And then there is vibration, reliability....

Ask anyone who's driven 5.0 and a 4.6 DOHC Mustang. One is faster,, but the other is more fun

I have a shop close by that had a Motus demo day and tried one... Oh YEAH More fun !! :orange

I watched an episode of Jay Leno's Garage last night where he showcased a Motus and I have to say I like it and oh does it sound sweet too. I understand now why they chose a V4 layout and pushrod design, the only thing that makes me cringe is the price tag.

From what i can see it looks like HD's new Milwaukee Eight Engine is a pushrod design.

It is pushrod like most all HD engines, but it has 4 valve heads which is new for Harley and kinda rare for pushrod design. Better overall airflow and thermal properties from what I've read about it so far.

I remember this from a while back.. He had to use his own insurance (not uncommon) but also put down a credit card deposit to do the demo ride...
