I road on wet spot roads from melting snow about 30 miles. After 15 miles and at a friends workplace
to show him the new ride i felt unsure. The bike feels so different from my wing. A little more vibration,
much louder, but not bad. And taller. On way home I began to like it. Instant brakes, great power, the st1300 has such a flat torque curve, just pulls and pulls. On the freeway, I really had to watch it, had a tendency to keep speeding up. And with the windshield set up high, ( with push of button) there is no wind on me at 70 and 80. Front wheel will lift pretty easy.in first and second gear, In fact it feels like it could jump out from under me on a hard takeoff, like a dirt bike. I'm learning how to get my leg over it, while watching not to scrape hardbags with my boots. The bike frame is stiff with great suspension and shifts so smooth. Very nice. But I'm keeping my wing no matter what. I will probably sell the FJ1100.

I remember your writing about your st1100 that you bought from friend. I've always wanted an st1100.
Almost bought a 2000 black 5000 mile st1100 for 4 grand. This one came up and it happened.
The st1100 is probably a better bike for me and my riding. I believe it is much more comfortable.
Roomier and not so hot. But they are similar in a lot of ways I've read.
