Thanks

Fil, the temporary fuel tank is available on-line (about $10 used or I think they go for $30-$40 new)

Grandson (7yrs old) will be helping out this year. I can't wait to see the expression on his face when he sees all those bikes. Way too cool!

On the Vintage ride yesterday we had a couple of the event workers with us. One mentioned the gates "unofficially open at 6:30am". Hope to make it there by 7, its going to be a great day.

I had a friend give one to me, it was a 1971. We had it for a number of years, then sold it on e-bay. The guy who bought it shipped it back to Japan!

Motorcycle restoration is our hobby and we pay for that. But in the end of wrenching, the bikes are free!

The photos of the past are great.

Glad to meet some of you. I did get a chance to look over your bikes. They look better in person.

Thanks for the compliments. Its greatly appreciated.

Gilmore was fun & hectic at the same time. I was running between bikes and going with my grandson (Ty, 7yrs old) to see some of the vintage rides. Very cool! My grandson's favorite... a minature Kawasaki cafe bike/scooter. Just happened to be parked next to the 77' GW. The owner let him sit on it & "mentioned" it was for sale. From then on it was all he talked about and how he was "going to save his money..." We had a great time.

Thanks for the compliments.

$5,786.31 was the total, not including my labor. Biggest expense was re-chroming parts and having the tank & covers professionally painted.

Good luck with your project.

Beautiful bikes back then. I love the blacked out engine/tanks graphics etc.

Cub. My folks lived in Minneapolis in the 40's. They were married there in 1946, with father graduating from the University of Minneapolis in 49. My 49 Cadillac fastback was sold new @ Warren Cadillac there also :<)

My grandparents are buried in Thief River Falls.
