Problem with Beck Arnley Thermo switch

#1

Post by BridgecityGL »

Anyone have a problem with Thermo Switch from Beck/Arnley not fitting? I purchased the correct part number 201-0817 from rock auto. It look identical to the factory unit on my 78 GL1000 except for the threads being a smaller diameter making it impossible to fit to the bike. the nice clean one in the phot is the new beck/arnley one.

Got the part number from goldwing docs forum. Maybe I shouldn't believe everything I read? The one that came out of the bike is a 18mm thread and the one that I got from rock auto part#201-0817 is a 16mm thread. I will check roady's part number and see!

I've also found that the Beck number posted is too small for a '75-'77 Goldwing.

Same here for my 77. I got mine from my local supplier and he cross referenced the number.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.
